SQLab 614 Ergowave Active 2.1 Saddle – Comfort-Driven Performance for Gravel and Adventure Riders

The SQLab 614 Ergowave Active 2.1 saddle is a performance gravel saddle engineered for comfort, support and efficiency on long, rough rides. Combining the best features of SQLab’s road and MTB designs, this saddle delivers ergonomic relief and back-friendly flexibility wherever the trail takes you.

🚴 Why Choose the SQLab 614 Ergowave Active 2.1 Saddle?

Gravel riders are a particular bunch, seeking long distances, fast segments, and the occasional unplanned detour through creek crossings. (RIP your BB bearings.) Whatever the terrain, your saddle shouldn’t be the part of the ride you remember for all the wrong reasons. Enter the SQLab 614 Ergowave Active 2.1 Saddle: a purpose-built gravel saddle that blends comfort and power transfer in one smart, slimline package.

Combining the lightweight shape of SQLab’s 612 road model with the generous padding of the 611 MTB saddle, the 614 is designed specifically for off-road efficiency and long-distance comfort. Its distinctive Ergowave shape—with a raised rear as well as a pressure-relieving centre dip—offers optimal sit bone support while protecting the sensitive perineal region (that’s your squishy bits). The lowered nose adds to the pressure relief, especially when you’re in the drops or climbing punchy fire trails.

Where this saddle really stands out, however, is its Active Technology system. By allowing the saddle shell to flex laterally with your natural pedalling motion, the 614 helps reduce pressure on your sit bones, promote a healthy posture, and gently mobilise your spinal discs.

Tough enough for long adventures and comfortable enough for day-after-day riding, the 614 Ergowave Active 2.1 is finished with superlight materials and reinforced with Kevlar in all the right places. This is the premium choice for gravel racers, bikepackers and riders who like to go long.

Features

• Gravel-Specific Design: Blends the slim profile of a road saddle with the added cushioning of MTB models for all-surface versatility and long-haul comfort
• Ergowave Shape: The wave-like profile and raised rear support efficient pedalling and optimal pressure distribution, improving power delivery while reducing fatigue
• Perineal Relief: A lowered nose and central dip reduce pressure on soft tissue areas, improving comfort and blood flow
• Active Technology: Flexes laterally with your pedalling motion to reduce pressure on the spine and support healthy movement
• Adjustable Flex: Comes with the medium/grey elastomer fitted as default; soft or hard elastomers are available upon request
• Perfect Fit: Available in multiple widths to match your sit bone measurements and riding position, ensuring full support and proper weight distribution
• Built For Adventure: Kevlar reinforcement on exposed sections protects against abrasion, while superlight foam and microfibre materials keep the weight low and durability high

A note on elastomers

The 614 Active 2.1 saddle comes with the grey/medium elastomer as default. If you’d prefer the soft/white or black/hard elastomer instead, please let us know in the Notes section when you add to cart, and we’ll swap it out for you so it’s ready to go.

Pro Bike Mechanic’s Tip 🔧

Gravel bikes often have a slightly more upright setup than road bikes. If in doubt, size up for better support.
